At night, the Dallas skyline pulses with a distinct energy. Towering facades lit in neon blues and electric pinks cast light sharply onto glass, steel, and concrete. A blend of modern architecture and urban decay creating a scene that feels like from both the past and future.

The 80s birthed many of these neon-lit buildings in a high-flying period of construction and financial ambition for the city. As it changed focus from oil to silicon during the decade, the globally popular TV show Dallas captured the city’s growth in its opening. The skyline even starred in parts of RoboCop, lending its sharp angles to the film’s dystopian vision.
